Revolutionary organizer Fred Hampton was assassinated by the Chicago Police Dept on December 4, 1969. Fred was an organizer for the NAACP as a youth, and later organized the Chicago chapter of the Black Panther Party, and eventually was to take leadership at the national level.
His apartment was raided by CPD early in the morning while he and his pregnant girlfriend slept. He and Captain Mark Clark were both killed.
